Chris Jones has released his short film ‘The Passenger’ to the world on DVD. Impressively the high level of production, including story, sound design, score, animation, texturing, rigging etc. was primarily completed as a solo project, allowing for this auteurs true vision to shine though. On a more personal note Chris uses the same software I’ve learnt so was great to see the making-of elements both on his blog and on the dvd.

November 17th, 2009 by LouisA 3D artist going by the name of Pantural has produced an adrenaline pumping video showing his car modelling expertise complete with details of poly count, render times and humorous title headings. November 17th, 2009 by LouisAn interesting Ad from Toshiba using their own consumers video camera. Much like their previous ad which used an array or consumer gear to striking effect.
360 Pano Music Video
September 18th, 2009 by LouisAn interesting technique I’ve not seen very often is a full 360 degree panoramic music video. This technique really captures the atmosphere and environment and allows for continuous, seemless pans. Cinema5D thread here.

3D video stabilization!
July 7th, 2009 by Louis
Throw away your steadicams! As developers Feng Liu, Michael Gleicher, Hailin Jin and Aseem Agarwala are working on “Content-Preserving Warps for 3D Video Stabilization”. I’ve been very impressed with deShaker plugin but this is a whole new dimension of stabilization that marries 3D tracking and camera solves with stabilization, removing the jittery motion in x,y and z, as well as doing a good job at handling the shutter role effect.
Deadline
June 29th, 2009 by LouisA great idea and some clever production methods caused the stop frame animation “Deadline” to create waves over the internet. Initially I was skeptical of it’s authenticity as stop frame, thinking some clever post-production was the key. But the behind scenes video reveals the truth.
